E. Kristin Anderson
Editor
E. Kristin Anderson is a multi-Pushcart-nominated poet and author who grew up in Westbrook, Maine and is a graduate of Connecticut College. She has a fancy diploma that says "B.A. in Classics," which makes her sound smart but has not helped her get any jobs in Ancient Rome. Kristin is the co-editor of Dear Teen Me, an anthology based on the popular website, and her next anthology, Hysteria: Writing the female body, is forthcoming from Sable Books. She is currently curating Come as You Are, an anthology of writing on 90s pop culture for ELJ Publications. Her poetry has been published worldwide in many magazines and anthologies, and she is the author of eight chapbooks. Kristin recently took a position as Special Projects Manager for ELJ and is a poetry editor at Found Poetry Review. Once upon a time she worked at The New Yorker. She now lives in Austin, TX and blogs at

“As a novice fiction writer, I made the decision to focus on the creative aspects of my work. Of course, that left a myriad of other details undone: formatting, copy editing, proofreading and the like. What to do? I turned to Yellow Bird for assistance in converting my story into a readable manuscript. E. Kristen Anderson was my editor/advisor and worked over each page with attention to writing style and story detail. I found her review comprehensive and comments beneficial. Thank you Emily and Yellow Bird for making my work better!“
-David McKinney, Writers’ League of Texas member and author of Bear Bones (top 3 winner of the Alaska Writers Guild Contest, 2014)
“E. Kristin Anderson is an incredibly generous critiquer. A sharp eye for detail, Anderson slips into editorial mode, keeping in mind style whilst fine tuning technique and expression. Anderson is able to navigate all styles and voices, and also encourage shifts in tone, rhythm and structure. Experience within poetry is extensive: published globally and incredibly prolific. Combined, this translates into Anderson being a concise, tactful, kind and valuable editor.”
