Born and raised in Chicago, award-winning author and editor Andrea Vanryken enjoyed an eclectic exposure to culture and art, though she has always gravitated most to the written page. She comes to Yellow Bird with five years of experience working as an associate editor for leading independent editor David Aretha, where she found her passion for collaborating one-on-one with authors to polish their writing to perfection. In 2020, Andrea earned her Advanced Editing Certificate and her Certificate in Accurate, Audience-Focused Editing from Poynter ACES (American Copy Editors Society) at The Poynter Institute.
